Our staircases and rail systems are crafted using construction techniques and processes that have remained basically unchanged for hundreds of years. Of course, our machinery is much faster and more exact now, but much of what is done, especially the construction of custom handrails, remains the same as it was in colonial times. The most significant benefit derived from modern methods is the fabrication of complete staircases in the factory, rather than building the stair on-site. This makes it possible for us to build extremely high tolerance stairs that will never squeak, crack, or suffer from any manufacturing defects no matter how trivial.
